Telling stories
Telling is an adjective in the title. These are the tales dredge from what must be the depths of Martin’s soul. These are the stories he choose to outline his career as a writer. The earliest speak to the sorrows he felt as a young man and as a young writer. The middle bunch are evidence of his growth and further proof of his understanding of the human heart. The later bunch are pure flexing. His finest work compressed into short, powerful, punchy, vivid, and heart breaking stories. George R.R. Martin has proved time and again that he’s a master of his craft but this book shows you how he got there.
