Dune Road
I purchased this book for a road trip and due to the fact that I had ready several of Jane Green's books in the past. I still have 4 hours to go, but so far, I love it. Green does a great job with her story telling and her femaile characters will be very appealing to most women. Green drops in several current issues into this book which is fun too - things like Facebook and sadly, the wallstreet and housing issues. I recommend this for a good read/listen that isn't too intense, gets at your emotions and has characters that you can relate to. Its one of those books that I sat in my car once I had reached my destination just to hear a bit more. I really like the narrator too.
why not...
I have been a Jane Green reader for a long time. This book is matured in comparision to some of her previous novels, its not written just for females. The overall story line is very mature and objective. It was a great read. Its a little slow in the begining for a reason. Good book!!
Boring
I purchased this book looking for a nice summer read. I love quirky characters and interesting storylines. While this book delivered on the character development it didn't have much of a story. The author spends hours developing characters by each one analyzing and ruminating on their past experiences and choices but doesn't do much to grab the readers attention with interesting events. I found myself thinking, "Not this again." If it had not been an audiobook I might have skimmed sections of the book. Instead I found myself actually skipping chapters. Because the story was so predictable I pretty much knew exactly what I missed. It might be good in paperback but definitely not worth the $23.95.
