Hard to pigeon hole
Dale Brown is a talented writer and the formula here should have worked. The primise is original and there was some action and suspense. The book as a whole just didn't work for me and I found the dialog between characters way too chatty and boring. In fact there were several scenes of over blabbering, where you want to say "just shut up and get on with it".
Very hard to listen to
The book itself was not awful, but I grew weary of listening to dialogue between high level members of the executive branch (and other branches) where they act like snotty children. Plus, the whole immigration conflict was just oversimplified and overblown. The worst part, however, was the narrator. His narration style and the voices he uses, particularly for female characters, are like fingernails on a chalk board. I had to occasionally fast-forward through sections because I simply couldn't stand to hear the guy. I stuck it through to the bitter end, but wouldn't recommend the book.
Narrator Terrible
Don't waste your time or money. While Dale Brown is a good author and I like him a lot the narration of this book is terrible! Painful to listen to, I couldn't even finish it.
