Superior!
Like being there, alongside these men from a distant history, but just the same as those I served alongside. Warrior poets, only the tools used have changed.
Reminds of blood meridian in the 1360’s
The prose and pacing makes for a good listen. The characters develope fairly well, and have good interpersonal interactions with the relevant characters. It’s a great first foray into historical fiction.
Falls Flat.
Great for about 75%. Then I lost interest and they focused on the worst character during the most important time.
