Publisher Description

A true story about how the government single-handedly stole NK's identity.

For NK, life has been anything but a walk in the park. When NK Yahushua set out with her friend and her dog for a sunset hike in LA’s famous Griffith Park, she set out toward her own demise. Before the night was over, NK would be racially profiled by a park ranger, arrested without cause, and falsely imprisoned miles away from her Los Feliz home. And that would only be the beginning.

For the next decade-and-a-half, NK finds herself swirling helplessly in the merciless grip of a prideful and discriminatory judicial system. Despite her doctoral degree, she loses her ability to secure gainful employment due to her criminal record's unnamed dark mark, with her home in foreclosure and her future hanging precariously in the balance.

NK sets out to determine exactly who placed her on California’s blacklist and why. What she discovers is the shocking evidence of nefarious activity within America’s insidious injustice system.

Will she live to see her record cleared and her life restored?

Faces Behind These Systems

As an immigrant in this country, you have to adapt changes and not only that, need to be open minded on what’s happening. It is your duty to learn the history and be part of the systemic change. For some, it may not be significant since they forget we are all immigrants. As my daughter says, if we don’t tend to learn and educate ourselves, we are part of the problem. The BLM was so significant last year. Some people say that All lives Matter, but it is our ignorance that makes us feel that way. “The Faces Behind These Systems” by NK Yahushua is a great book. I’ve realized that learning someone else’s experiences make you more empathic to what others deal with every day of their lives. It is a great honor to know the author personally. This book will teach you lessons of love, faith, and show first-hand how systemic injustice is real. I highly recommend it to parents and their teenagers. The change starts @ HOME. I pray that one day everyone will be treated EQUAL.
