An adventure well worth a listen ...
Let's face it, most of us will never have the opportunity to travel the world like Neil Peart. However, I expect there are some roads and towns written about in "Far and Near" that we have traveled and can find some common visual memory. Like the music of Rush, Neil's writing has always challenged
me to dig a little deeper; to notice things that may have typically passed by in a blur. To capture these moments on paper is a a gift (and a lot of work) To be able to communicate it to others is a talent. To grow from reading (or listening) to it is a real treat. It really does not matter if you are on two wheels, four wheels or just taking a stroll, this book has encouraged me to appreciate the special moments on the road and look a bit closer at the wonders that surround us. Expect to learn a bit of history too. All good fun, no boring textbook stuff here. Plenty of good humor too. Makes for a great audio listen while driving, but I sure miss seeing the photos being described. Oh well, probably end up getting the hard copy too.
