Publisher Description
Most advice about creativity focuses on motivation.
Most creative failure has nothing to do with it.
Fearless Persistence is about the systems that quietly shape creative success and why so many talented people struggle without ever understanding why. Drawing on decades inside film studios, creative institutions, and leadership classrooms, Adam Leipzig reveals the hidden systems that support and constrain success-how power, pressure, time, belief, and structure shape whose work travels and whose work stalls, regardless of talent.
Rather than offering inspiration or hustle culture, Fearless Persistence reframes persistence as design. It shows how creators and leaders build structures that allow their work to continue when conditions change, as they always do. Clear-eyed, deeply practical, and grounded in real experience, this book helps listeners see the system beneath the story and redesign their creative lives for endurance, integrity, and impact.
Creative success is shaped by systems. This book shows how to design a life that thrives inside them.

A wonderful blend of practical tips and inspiration
I just finished listening to the audiobook of Fearless Persistence, and it is so packed with rich, informative chapters that I’m going to buy a print copy. I want to be able to flip back through it, make notes, highlight my favorite parts, and make my "to-do" list.
What I loved most about Adam’s approach is how he blends real industry know-how and business focus with a genuine respect for creativity and passion. He’s an executive behind some amazing movies like Dead Poets Society and March of the Penguins, so he knows what he's talking about.
A couple of things really stuck with me:
"The Gift of the Day Job": His take on this is an important mindset shift. Instead of viewing a day job as a drag, he reframes it as a tool that actually provides material and grounding for your art. Hearing how icons like Maya Angelou and Dustin Hoffman used their day jobs to fuel their creative work was super validating---and fun to hear.
Time and Money Budgets: I loved his call for creatives to manage not only their financial budgets but also their time budgets with the same discipline.
If you are trying to balance a creative passion with the realities of the real world, read this. It’s awesome. It's grounded. It's like sitting in on a seminar class with your favorite professor---fun, thought-provoking, and gives you an actionable map.
