Really tired of the comic relief standish's
I used to love the ember war series, but he's really started to jump the shark, especially with the really annoying comic relief characters. Standish the soldier was bad enough, but every time I hear his "daughter" Danny Standish speak, I skip the audiobook forward by 2 minutes just so I don't have to hear the nonsense.
Congratulations, Richard Fox. You managed to kill my love for the ember war series. Up until now, I bought every one. Never again. I listen to audiobooks to be entertained, not to listen to danny standish whine every 3 minutes in the fakest female voice accent I've ever heard. As if the dialog itself wasn't bad enough, it literally grates on my ear every time I hear Luke Daniels try to use that awful voice again.
