Publisher Description

The internationally bestselling fantasy sensation is back, with brand-new stories set in the world of Eragon and the Inheritance Cycle!

A wanderer and a cursed child. Spells and magic. And dragons, of course. Welcome back to the world of Alagaësia.

It's been a year since Eragon departed Alagaësia in search of the perfect home to train a new generation of Dragon Riders. Now he is struggling with an endless sea of tasks: constructing a vast dragonhold, wrangling with suppliers, guarding dragon eggs, and dealing with belligerent Urgals and haughty elves. Then a vision from the Eldunarí, unexpected visitors, and an exciting Urgal legend offer a much-needed distraction and a new perspective.

This volume features three original stories set in Alagaësia, interspersed with scenes from Eragon's own unfolding adventure. Included is an excerpt from the memoir of the unforgettable witch and fortune-teller Angela the herbalist . . . penned by Angela Paolini, the inspiration for the character, herself!

Relish the incomparable imagination of Christopher Paolini in this thrilling new collection of stories based in the world of the Inheritance Cycle.

A Welcome Continuation

This book is different from the main books of the Inheritance Cycle for several reasons. For one, this book is very short in comparison. This book is simply a small check in on our favorite characters. The writing isn’t quite as intellectual as the previous books but it does tell the story just as it should. While this book isn’t what I had imagined or hoped for, it’s a must read for any fan of the Inheritance Cycle.

Short & Sweet

This book is very enjoyable! Looking forward to reading more of Christopher Paolini‘s books in the future.

It felt nice to take a short interlude with the Eragon series and listen to other characters perspectives from their point of view. It would be nice to have more of these types of books in the future.

Keep up the great work Christopher Paolini and everybody involved in helping create a wonderful series!

Well written

I’ve seen a lot of people degrade this book as not being in paolini’s usual writing style. However I believe that this collection of stories is a really good way to get back into Eragon’s life without needing a long book. It really enjoyed it. It was great to listen to and I loved every second. My only complaint is that it’s over and I want more stories. Well worth the read or listen.
