Audie Award Finalist, Classic, 2013

Narrator Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) presents an uncanny performance of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic novel, an epic battle between man and monster at its greatest literary pitch. In trying to create life, the young student Victor Frankenstein unleashes forces beyond his control, setting into motion a long and tragic chain of events that brings Victor to the very brink of madness. How he tries to destroy his creation, as it destroys everything Victor loves, is a powerful story of love, friendship, scientific hubris, and horror.

Make sure you have the third edition (1831)

Had to read this book for a class. Make sure you have the third edition so everything lines up. Definitely worth the money as this version is much better than what YouTube and other platforms have to offer. Stevens does a great job embodying the characters’ emotions and voices. Definitely buy if you have to read this book.

This is the 1831 version

I am writing a master's thesis on Frankenstein with both 1818 and 1831 editions. This version by Dan Stevens is the 1831 version. So, if you decide to buy this audiobook, and would like to follow along with it, please make sure you have the 1831 edition which is the thrid edition. The chapters will line up. There are three different editions of Frankenstein. For example, the 1818 (first edition) has Elizabeth and Victor as actual cousins. In the 1831 version, she is an orphan adopted by the Frankenstein family. Ignore the low rating reviews, I feel these reviewers did not get the correct edition to follow along with. There are vast differences between the editions so, make sure to have the 1831 (third edition). The emotions of Dan Sevens is very heartfelt to me as now, when I read Frankenstein in my mind, his voice rings in my head.

Fantastic!

Not sure what the other reviewer is talking about, i bought this only 2 weeks ago and read along with the book just fine, including the letters and chapter 1.

The reader gives a great performance and even better when doing the Creature's voice. It's so sad and sympathetic. Very well done! Highly recommended.
