Slow down - or focus - just a little more on these bookshots
Ive read just about every Patterson book but only recently read a bunch of these “bookshots”. I actually like the format of these and immediately became a fan of the Luc Moncrief character. However, in this particular book, i think trying to cover two storylines (the dying girls and the threatened horse owners) left the closure of the dying girls case way short on details. I even went back and read the relevant chapters again to ensure it wasnt me - but it felt like there was such a focus on getting to the horse owner plot that the dying girls plot was wrapped up too easily/conveniently. So I felt the bookshot format left the reader “short” on depth of the fist plot. And frankly even the resolution of the horse owner case was a little too convenient. The rationale/excuse on both of these was just that Luc has great instincts, haha. I like the Luc Moncrief series overall, but in this book, 1 +1 was alot less than 1 good quality story.
