Publisher Description
Fresh Air with Terry Gross, the Peabody Award-winning weekday magazine of contemporary arts and issues, offers some of the most intelligent interviews, reviews, and commentary heard on radio. Terry Gross has been called by
The Los Angeles Times, "One of the most thought-provoking interviewers working in the media today." In this special compilation, you'll hear exhilarating excerpts from classic interviews with 21 stars of comedy, including Tracey Ullman on her zany characters, Chris Rock on growing up small and black in a white neighborhood, Carol Leifer on the inspiration for her brand of cabaret comedy, and Henny Youngman on his famous line, "Take my wife, please." This collection also features interviews with Pieter Dirk-Uys, Richard Pryor, Drew Carey, Bob Newhart, Jackie Mason, Phyllis Diller, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Martin Short, and David Hyde Pierce.

This is a group of short, sometimes painfully awkward (chris rock) interviews with comedians. Tracy Ulman is terrific, but then the interviews start to go down hill and there are no laughs. (Drew Carey? Richard Pryor) Nor are the clips long enough to have the in depth interest of a regular Fresh Air Broadcast. I love Terry Gross, and wonder who the F*** put this compliation together and decided to charge $11 for it. You are better off spending less and downloading regular a half hour or hour long Fresh Air with your favorite comedians.
