In this heartfelt, touching memoir, actor Matthew Perry recounts his life’s most defining moments with total candor. After his parents separated when he was young, Perry found solace in making people laugh and always seeking entertainment—which often came with the occasional drink (or six). From flying solo at the age of 5 to getting in a fistfight with Justin Trudeau (yes, the future Canadian prime minister) at age 10, Perry’s turbulent childhood left him feeling like an “unaccompanied minor” well into his adulthood. We were touched as the beloved Friends actor opens up about the addiction that ravaged him at the height of his career. Good memoir.
He jumps around alot but circles back. I feel like the ending was a little abrupt in the book but it also reflects the abrupt ending in real life.
Very Raw and Brave
Listening to his audio book after his passing is surreal. I wasn’t expecting him to narrate it but it was emotional to here his voice talk about all his pain and struggles, but towards the end he seemed to have found the peace he was searching for but to only live that peace for such a short time is heartbreaking! He’s so brave to share his story and to be so raw with his feeling and struggles for all to read and help others know that you are not alone and you are worth saving, Rest in Love Matty

This book just hits different after Matthew Perry passed. God bless his soul. I’m so glad he narrated his own book.
