#1 New York Times bestselling author and popular radio and television host Glenn Beck revisits Thomas Paine's Common Sense.

In any era, great Americans inspire us to reach our full potential. They know with conviction what they believe within themselves. They understand that all actions have consequences. And they find commonsense solutions to the nation’s problems.

One such American, Thomas Paine, was an ordinary man who changed the course of history by penning Common Sense, the concise 1776 masterpiece in which, through extraordinarily straightforward and indisputable arguments, he encouraged his fellow citizens to take control of America’s future—and, ultimately, her freedom.

Nearly two and a half centuries later, those very freedoms once again hang in the balance. And now, Glenn Beck revisits Paine’s powerful treatise with one purpose: to galvanize Americans to see past government’s easy solutions, two-party monopoly, and illogical methods and take back our great country.

This makes Sense!

We see whats happening, and hope it turns out OK but wonder what can we do anyway. Well maybee this can give you ideas of what can be done. It's not Dem or Rep, or left and right, it's we the people, American citizens who believe that something does not add up, and maybe we need to take another look at things.
Refreshing ideas that make sense!

It is obvious...

...that the morons who wrote one star reviews have NOT READ THE BOOK! This book bashes both the Democrats and the Republicans, which you all would have know if YOU HAD READ THE BOOK!

Glenn dosent just bash Democrats, he goes after Congress as a whole, just as he has been doing for years now. Only people who watch his show would know that. Beck has been saying that we have been headed for facism for years now (YES! EVEN UNDER THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION). Beck explains that all politicians, both Democrat and Republican, have no intention of helping the people, they just care about themselves. Politicians force their ideology on others in order to gain more power, the more people they can get to follow them, the more power they have.

For awhile now, I have considered myself to be a conservative, but now im not so sure, and I sure as hell arent going to join the liberals. I dont know exactly who I should follow, but I do know this...I am done with politcal parties. I am no longer a Republican, nor am I a Democrat...

We as Americans, must remind our government that we do not serve them, THEY SERVE US!

A Real Review

Glenn's short book illustrates his opinion of an out-of-control government that must stop. He explains that both major political parties pander to interest groups and create conflict in between the two parties to stay in control. He tells us how corruption has been killing the constitution since the early 20th century; the progressive era. He states the Fed. tax code is used as a weapon against anyone not in line with popular progressive thought.

An interesting book that is quick, simple, and to the point. He puts a lot of voice in his narrative. This will make you disappointed in the U.S. government, if you are not already. My only issue with the novel is it dose not quite explain how to deal with the situation as it is; how to put government back in it's place. I suppose it is up to us to find one.

I want to remind everyone this area is for posting a comment on how you felt about the audiobook. This is not the place to trash talk the GOP or the Author. Tell us why you didn't like the author through reference of the audiobook or book that you should have listen/read before posting a comment. That goes for comments against the one star reviews. They don't help anyone trying to decide wether to buy the book or not.
