Publisher Description

More than three thousand years have passed since the first events recorded in Frank Herbert's DUNE. Only one link survives with those tumultuous times: the grotesque figure of Leto Atreides, son of the prophet Paul Muad'Dib, and now the virtually immortal God Emperor of Dune. He alone understands the future, and he knows with a terrible certainty that the evolution of his race is at an end unless he can breed new qualities into his species. But to achieve his final victory, Leto Atreides must also bring about his own downfall . . .

Fascinating Story...

I've been reading the entire Dune series from both Frank and Brian Herbert. There's a distinct difference in the books written by Herbert the elder. His use of language and imagery is true literature in the best sense. The character of Leto II is an extraordinary "tyrant". What a shame Frank Herbert didn't live 20 years longer. For a real treat, read the following books in the following order:

Dune Messiah
Children of Dune
God Emperor of Dune
Heretics of Dune
Chapterhouse Dune
The Road to Dune

Brian Herbert novels:

The Butlerian Jihad
The Machine Crusade
The Battle of Corrin
Paul of Dune
Hunters of Dune
Sandworms of Dune

I only wish there were a book to cover the 3500 year gap between Children of Dune and God Emperor of Dune.

Five Stars Because F That Guy!

I just wanted to give this a five star review because of the overly sensitive douche bag had to go on a diatribe about being uncomfortable about language and make it about his personal stand against perceived homophobia. So I bought this and gave it a five star review because EFF that guy! Obviously this is a tirade and beyond ridiculous. Hey I’m bored okay!
