J.T. Ellison’s pulse-pounding new psychological thriller examines the tenuous bonds of friendship, the power of lies and the desperate lengths people will go to in order to protect their secrets.
Goode girls don’t lie…
Perched atop a hill in the tiny town of Marchburg, Virginia, The Goode School is a prestigious prep school known as a Silent Ivy. The boarding school of choice for daughters of the rich and influential, it accepts only the best and the brightest. Its elite status, long-held traditions and honor code are ideal for preparing exceptional young women for brilliant futures at Ivy League universities and beyond.
But a stranger has come to Goode, and this ivy has turned poisonous.
In a world where appearances are everything, as long as students pretend to follow the rules, no one questions the cruelties of the secret societies or the dubious behavior of the privileged young women who expect to get away with murder.
When a popular student is found dead, the truth cannot be ignored. Rumors suggest she was struggling with a secret that drove her to suicide.
But look closely…because there are truths and there are lies, and then there is everything that really happened.
Don’t miss this fast-paced suspense story from New York Times bestselling author J.T. Ellison!
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Who knew that an all-girls boarding school could be such a scintillating hotbed of vice and corruption? In J.T. Ellison’s fascinating thriller, Ash Carr has fled her home in England—and the trauma of her parents’ recent deaths—to enroll at the prestigious Goode School in Virginia. But when her roommate is found dead, her classmates start probing into the loss of her parents—and the scandal surrounding it. Ellison gives us a perfect view of Ash as a character, showing us her perceptiveness and intelligence while leaving just enough room to have us wondering if she could be capable of murder. Between the lush, mahogany-paneled classrooms and the entitled daughters of the elite, Ellison transported us to this hallowed school. As narrator Fiona Hardingham nimbly switches between posh British accents and down-home Southern drawls, you’d swear you were walking the ivy-covered campus yourself. If you’re a fan of twisty, fast-paced thrillers, or if you love the claustrophobic tension of Rory Power’s Wilder Girls, don’t pass up Good Girls Lie.
Customer Reviews
Overall great story!
The storyline was intriguing and kept my attention for sure! The only thing I would change is to have a different narrator for the other point of views (preferably a US accent since Ford is American).
Pretty good
Nice twists. Pretty good book go listen to.
