Publisher Description
In a pulls-no-punches essay intended to provoke rational discussion, Stephen King sets down his thoughts about gun violence in America. Anger and grief in the wake of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School are palpable in this urgent piece of writing, but no less remarkable are King's keen thoughtfulness and composure as he explores the contours of the gun-control issue and constructs his argument for what can and should be done.
King's earnings from the sale of this essay will go to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
Stephen King is the author of 11/22/63, Under the Dome, Carrie, The Shining, and many other best-selling works.
"The overwhelming response from readers of the Kindle Single edition of Guns underscores the great need for thoughtful discourse on the issue of guns in America…I’m thrilled Audible is bringing Guns to the quickly growing audience of audiobook listeners." (Stephen King)
Customer Reviews
this book is not based on facts
Stephen King states that he is basing his premise on facts. That is not a fact. If you really want to be educated on this topic, do your own homework. Remember, he writes fiction. Come on Stephen, you are nothing but an ideologue on this topic. At the least, you are intellectually dishonest.
BETTER SOURCE FOR FACTS
Read John Lott for actual FACTS about guns and crime. Stephen King has NO expertise or experience in this area.
Stick to Ghosts and Goblins Steve, reality is not your strong point.
Rational Thought & The Constitution
Loved this. It's shorter than an AK-47 instruction manual and to the point. Which is more than I can say for these so called "defenders of the Constitution" that can't even tell you how many other amendments there are w/o needing a smartphone to Google it. (27 - to spare some of you dummies the time.) If you have a problem with this exercising of free speech you're probably a fascist but too dumb to know it.
