If you’re like us, you’ve read J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books so many times you can recite entire scenes verbatim. Luckily, there’s no need for that—British actor Jim Dale has done it for you. With his knack for dramatic storytelling, Dale was born to retell the first book of the wildly successful series. He gives distinct voices to Rowling’s colorful range of characters—mousey Neville Longbottom, ginormous Hagrid, a squawkily adolescent Ron Weasley—and makes this audiobook is a genuinely wonderful listen.

Love the stories not the reader
I’ve read these books several times and watched the movies even more. This narrator doesn’t do the book justice. Be prepared for dropped r’s on Gryffindor and consonants dropped at the end of other words like he’s speaking French. And I agree with other reviewers in the he goes too fast in some places and too slow in others. Disappointed he’s the narrator on the other books, too.
