An Amazon Charts and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling series.
They’re hunting a killer so silent, so invisible, that his unspeakable crimes are the only proof he exists.
A car submerged in a remote pond. The bodies of two girls strapped into their seats. The mystery of their mother, vanished without a trace, leads Gwen Proctor and Kezia Claremont into dangerous territory.
On the surface, Gwen’s life is good - two children approaching adulthood, a committed partner, and a harrowing past dead and gone. But that past is attracting the attention of someone invisible...and unstoppable. Trouble’s just beginning. So is the body count in this backwoods Tennessee town.
As threats mount and Gwen’s hunted by an enemy who pulls all the strings, Kezia has her back. But working to solve these vicious and unreasonable crimes will expose them both to a killer they can’t for the life of them see coming.

4 stars & May Rachel Caine rest in peace & love
Once again, I’ve enjoyed another of Rachel Caine’s “Stillhouse lake” series.
I did enjoy it, even if the some of the parts were hard to stomach… especially since I became a mother a couple years back. I also felt that one of the characters, while going through something personal, is behaving completely different from how they have acted in previous books. Like we could say it was the hormones, we could say it was from the opening scene being too traumatizing…. But I just don’t think that a character who played it by the book for the first 4 books would suddenly go off course and be rogue with Gwen. When before, they always seemed to be a bit of the voice of reason. Plus, it would end their career for not listening at all, interfering with investigations, etc.
I’m excited to read the next in the series, Trapper Road, even though this book concludes the last of Rachel’s books published before she passed. May she RIP.
Last Book!!
Going into this book was extremely hard knowing this wonderful author lost her battle with a horrendous killer.
Gwen and her family just never seem to catch a break.
This has been a suspenseful edge of your seat series that never lets up. This installment was creepy and chilling.
A testament to a author that will live on through her amazing words.
