I enjoyed this one as an audiobook. Elaine and Lucien are from rival families: the Morelli’s and the Constantine’s. They shouldn’t be attracted to each other but they are. Elaine is a bit of a wild child who, unfortunately, is the misunderstood one of the family. She has secret and unresolved trauma from her past (something she’s never told her mother about). Lucien is trying to prove himself worthy of being the CEO of his family’s company but they wasn’t him to find a wife that will keep him in line.
Lucien thinks Elaine would be perfect because not only is she also attracted to him: she’s a Constantine. This would bug everyone on his side of the situation but also give him what he wants.

Lucien narrated by Tor Thom was 🥵🥵🥵🔥🔥🔥 Tor’s voice did things to me and Lucien the things he did and said 💀. His relationship dynamic with Elaine was dark and I couldn’t stop listening. This was my first Jade West story and I was enthralled. The story was dark and twisted but in the best ways. At the end I was left needing the next book. 10/10 recommend. The narrators are fabulous. They bring the story to life.

So I was lucky to received and audiobook of this story and I asked myself why did I waited so long to start with this trilogy because I loved every single book I've read in the Midnight Dynasty World. Lucian Morelli and Elaine Constantine's story was everything I was expecting and so much more.
Lucian is the heir of the Morelli's dynasty and the perfect antihero. Ruthless, dark, arrogant and a total bastard at times. He wants power and won't stop until he gets it. When the wild child of his family's enemy, Elaine Constantine enters his interest becomes more than obsess with her.
Elaine is a like a broken doll, she wears a mask in front of her family and friends. I honestly feel for her and everything she keeps hiding away.
This is the first book in this trilogy and I can't wait for more of this intense dark forbidden romance!
