Heidi

Heidi by Johanna Spyri is a delightful novel about an orphaned girl. Heidi's aunt Detie brings the 6-year-old to her paternal grandfather's home, up in the Swiss mountain slopes. He fleetingly feels bitter about Heidi's arrival, but the girl's unmistakable intellect and joyful yet modest demeanor soon earns his sincere affection.
