Why was it necessary to change the text in order for a man to narrate it??

This is a wonderful and accessible book written by a knowledgable author. In the book, she give anecdotes about her and her husband on the farm. Why would they go through the hassle of changing all this to make it gender neutral, just so a man can narrate it?? I sure hope this wasn't for marketing reasons.... if it was, it is incredibly sexist.

Touches a bit on everything

This is a good first book if you are interested in hobby farming. It briefly touches on a multitude of topics. From picking your location, types of animals, gardening, solar & wind, etc. I find myself referring back to it. If you want specific, detailed info then she also give references to other books and websites. I didn't give it 5 stars because it seemed like a few more things could have been added. However, it is still a great start.
