Publisher Description

A highly infectious, deadly virus from the central African rain forest suddenly appears in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. There is no cure. In a few days 90 percent of its victims are dead. A secret military SWAT team of soldiers and scientists is mobilized to stop the outbreak of this exotic "hot" virus. The Hot Zone tells this dramatic story, giving a hair-raising account of the appearance of rare and lethal viruses and their "crashes" into the human race. Shocking, frightening, and impossible to ignore, The Hot Zone proves that truth really is scarier than fiction.

This is one of the most compelling reads. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys intellegent suspense. Also check out the Cobra Event. You will not put these down for any reason.

Warning: Animal Testing

I am half way through the book and find the topic of animal testing on monkeys to be hard to listen to. Just when I think we have moved past that topic, it is back again. I don't know if I can listen to the rest of the book.

Poor quality

At the beginning, the audible book was alright. But in the 2nd part, starting from 1:18:15, it crashes...not any voice come out at all... :(
