Publisher Description
The Onion’s Baratunde Thurston shares his 30-plus years of expertise in being black, with helpful essays like “How to Be the Black Friend,” “How to Speak for All Black People,” “How To Celebrate Black History Month,” and more, in this satirical guide to race issues—written for black people and those who love them. Audacious, cunning, and razor-sharp, How to Be Black exposes the mass-media’s insidiously racist, monochromatic portrayal of black culture’s richness and variety. Fans of Stuff White People Like, This Week in Blackness, and Ending Racism in About an Hour will be captivated, uplifted, incensed, and inspired by this hilarious and powerful attack on America’s blacklisting of black culture: Baratunde Thurston’s How to Be Black.

This book change my whole life I absorb so many new things I can run faster than all my friends now I look like the middle of a PlayStation five I finally got fighting skills like Mike Tyson I thought I was just that Miles Morales and now I play Street basketball and I hopped in the studio and made a song called more chicken. I finally got my own album so like every person that would probably do that I got my PlayStation to act like one of those kind of people so now that I look like an Xbox series X I started getting girlfriends so I know I have three exes in my bank account and I’ve also been listening to a lot more 21 Savage and I’ve been watching little Macy’s videos on TikTok yeah so that’s my story of this book
