PLEASANTLY SURPRISED

I wasnt sure how to feel at first and in that same sense I learned ALOT. Yes there’s definitely some stuff in this that is not all great however there’s a lot that’s absolutely usable that I’ll begin to use immediately! Overall I’d rate this a solid 9/10. Great read!

Poor messaging

The author intends to offer advice on how to be a better conversationalist but upon listening to the book, it seems to me that the focus is to be liked to such an extreme as to never correct people. Not just over disagreements (which isn’t always appropriate) but even when they get something wrong like a man who wants to visit Brasil to practice his Spanish. The book suggests to not correct him so as to not be off putting but that’s terrible advice. Tell him! Save that man some money! Yes tone needs to be factored in here and the book does mention that earlier on but it doesn’t mention it in this context. There’s just a lot of bad advice and I think it will lead a lot of unconfident people to be overly agreeable and while that will achieve the goal of getting others to like you, you’ll eventually end up unhappy because you can’t express your own thoughts and opinions freely
