Hyperion
"Hyperion" is the first of four novels often referred to as the Hyperion Cantos ("Hyperion", "The Fall of Hyperion", "Endymion", and "The Rise of Endymion"). Calling this novel a cross genre tour de force or trying to synopsize the complex plot would be a disservice to one of the best written, emotion packed works of fiction I have read (listened to) in the last 20 years. I think that I will simply call this one of the great reads in SciFi. This audio audition is superbly narrated.
Hyperion
I have read all 4 books in the "Hyperion Cantos" and completely enjoyed them. A modern SciFI classic. I decided to download book one because I felt that this series would lend itself to a dramatic reading and I was not disappointed. The book is inspired by Chaucer's Canturbury Tails and the titles come from the poetry of Keats. Literate SF at its very best. The story of 7 pilgrims in a far future world and why they are on Hyperion. Complex, challenging and rewarding.
