The book was great but I found the narration very distracting. Every character, including the first-person narration of the protagonist, was overly enunciated, each letter of every word pronounced deliberately, spaces between the word. The effect was disconcertingly robotic. None of the characters sounded like people. Kinda took me out of the story.
