Publisher Description
From the bestselling author of Good Girl, Bad Girl and When You Are Mine comes a gripping thriller featuring the brilliant forensic psychologist Cyrus Haven as he becomes embroiled in an explosive murder case with disturbing origins.
Criminal psychologist Cyrus Haven and Evie Cormac return in this “powerhouse of a novel” (Booklist, starred review) from internationally bestselling author Michael Robotham, a writer Stephen King calls “an absolute master...with heart and soul.”
Who is Evie, the girl with no past, running from? She was discovered hiding in a secret room in the aftermath of a terrible crime. Her ability to tell when someone is lying helped Cyrus crack an impenetrable case in Good Girl, Bad Girl. Now, the closer Cyrus gets to uncovering answers about Evie’s dark history, the more he exposes Evie to danger, giving her no choice but to run. Ultimately, both will have to decide if some secrets are better left buried and some monsters should never be named...
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Evie has no memory of her life before she was found at a grisly homicide scene months before. And as she and criminal psychologist Cyrus Haven learn in this gripping sequel to the thriller Good Girl, Bad Girl, there are some who want to keep it that way. You don’t need to have listened to the first book to dive into this mystery, as Cyrus and Evie—two strangers united by painful pasts—go up against an evil conspiracy. There’s something hugely compelling about this unlikely pair, whose traumas motivate them to investigate almost unspeakable horrors, like a series of ghastly child murders that might be linked to Evie’s past. Narrator Joe Jameson does an amazing job, using the slightest inflection to turn Evie from a troubled, snarky teen into a fiery, righteous crime fighter. Author Michael Robotham isn’t afraid to go dark. The enemy in this thriller is so monstrous that we couldn’t stop listening, desperate our mounting terror.
Customer Reviews
Ignore the negative reviews.
I truly don’t understand the other reviews. This book is great. If you can get through the slowness of the first book, how can’t you get through this one. We finally find out Evie’s story too! I love it. Can’t wait for book 3. I think some people just want to complain tbh.
Excellent
Spellbinding. Absolutely loved!
Fantastic
I love this story.. moving, sad, emotional, but also hopeful and you want it to end well. I look forward to another potential Cyrus and Evie book
