The Bench

Terrible! Not worth the money.

Soothing and inspirational

The Duchess of Sussex has the most soothing voice. It’s such a joy and comfort to hear her reading the words in my ears. Having grown up in a society where the environmental messaging often taught boys that is was not okay for them to be vulnerable, that somehow venting emotions is an inappropriate act for little boys, the message in The Bench is one that supports a more emotionally nurturing masculinity. I love that! It is beautiful for fathers to model and create both physical and emotional safe spaces for nurturing their sons who will one day become men. I really enjoyed this and I know my nephew will too. It’s definitely a soothing and heartwarming read.
