Mount Doom lies in the very heart of the Dark Lord's realm. Their only guide on the perilous journey is Gollum, a deceitful and obsessive creature who once possessed the Ring and longs to wield its power once again.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
The journey to save Middle-earth takes a perilous turn in the second book in J.R.R. Tolkien’s seismic high-fantasy Lord of the Rings trilogy. Amidst an attack by orcs, the hobbits Frodo and Sam are separated from the group and forced to continue alone on their journey to Mount Doom, where the Dark Lord Sauron’s powerful ring can be destroyed. Meanwhile, the remaining members of the fellowship head to the kingdom of Rohan, only to discover its king has been entranced under Sauron’s treacherous influence. From trees that walk and talk to the pitiful and iconic character Gollum, celebrated actor Andy Serkis (who played Gollum in the film adaptation) delivers the deep lore and thrilling excitement of this epic tale like it’s a captivating one-man show. Between the expansive world-building and racing plot, Tolkien paints a picture that electrifies your imagination, making this audiobook an utterly transfixing experience. Hit play and dive headfirst into the glorious world of Middle-earth.

Thoroughly enjoyed
Really enjoyed book 2 of The Lord Of the Rings…especially this version. The narration draws you in. Highly recommended.
Amazing!
J.R.R. Tolkien had amazing literature skills, and they really show in Lord of the Rings. The complex flow of this story and the fast-paced, ever evolving theme makes it constantly enjoyable and new. I definitely recommend reading/listening to this book, and the following sequels.
Best second book
So good could listen to it 700 times back to back. Andy is the perfect choice for the narrator because he PLAYED golem in the movies so it a perfect fit I love the ents as well. J.R.R Tolkien is a master at right in a proper tone and in an old English way which sets the scene of middle earth really well can wait for to listen to the final book
