Publisher Description

Bloomsbury presents Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, read by Elizabeth Evans.

Lethal. Loyal. Legendary.

Enter the world of Throne of Glass with the first book in the #1 bestselling series by Sarah J. Maas.

In a land without magic, an assassin is summoned to the castle. She has no love for the vicious king who rules from his throne of glass, but she has not come to kill him. She has come to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three murderers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she will be released from prison to serve as the King's Champion.

Her name is Celaena Sardothien.

The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. And a princess from a faraway country will befriend her. But something rotten dwells in the castle, and it's there to kill. When her competitors start dying mysteriously, one by one, Celaena's fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival—and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world.

Thrilling and fierce, Throne of Glass is the first book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series that has captivated readers worldwide.

A Good Opening

First in series novels need to captivate the reader to continue reading the remaining books. The Throne of Glass novel did just that. It leaves enough mystery and unanswered questions that the reader will be frustrated if they don’t keep reading. This is a lovely gateway drug into the writing of Sarah J. Maas and I’m here for it!

Throne of Glass

I definitely understand why so many people said to “get through the first book.” The entire first book is introducing characters and world building. The entire book is setting up the scene while provoked some insight into things that are going to be coming through the series from what I gathered. I loved the narration. It’s a great book and I’m excited for the series to continue.

Incase you read the whole series

I loved all these books. This book is long and got boring at times but I stuck it out and ended up loving it. Note to readers Apple Books will show “the way it should be”read/ listened to but it’s missing a book I am now on the book “Kingdom of Ash” and am only now finding out there is another book in the series that is not listed. The name is “ The Assassin‘s Blade” did some research and found out it should be read before this book. Hope this review helps someone avoid my experience. I also loved the narrator I saw a few comments that disagreed but she did very well in my opinion.
