I was intrigued with this the cover and decided to give the audiobook a try.
The narrators, Cindy Kay and Aiden Snow were great. The variety of tones and inflections used for their characters and a variety of other characters were easy to distinguish.
I enjoyed how the story whisked me away to Shanghai with Farrah and Blake. This story is perfect for fans of friends to lovers. Farrah wants the forever after and Blake is a party boy. It was cute to see how their friendship blossomed to more than just friends. The ending is bittersweet. If it wasn’t for the audiobook I would have struggled with the story. It was a bit slow for me. The narrators truly elevated the story for me.

Farrah Lin and Blake Ryan started 1 year studying aboard in Shanghai China, Farrah studying to be an interior designer and Blake Ryan is a business major. Him finally deciding what he will do after he graduates that same year. He wants to open a sport bar. But his father doesn’t understand why he didn’t want to purse his football career to go for the NFL. But both not looking for love, they both fell for one another hard. Their first true love, but something happened to alter their future forever. Will Blake be able to fix whatever that hangs over them? Or will they part with a hurt heart?

This story was cute. It’s part of a duet so there is not HEA yet but I have some predictions for what I think might happen.
Although there were parts of this story that I did enjoy, overall I felt like it just was too drawn out. There is a lot of content involving the friend group which is great for people who enjoy that type of story, I personally prefer when the romance is the focus the whole time. Nothing wrong with it, just a personal preference.
We open the book with a spoiler of our hero brutally dumping the heroine. I’m not a huge fan of prologues spoiling the plot so that was already a bummer for me. It puts a sense of doubt and dread in all the romance for me.
When it came to the situation with them that lead to the breakup, I hated the way he handled everything that went down. I’m almost not sure I want to read on and hear him grovel. I might but I’m undecided.
