What should be a cozy and fun-filled weekend deep in the English countryside takes a sinister turn in Ruth Ware’s suspenseful, compulsive, and darkly twisted psychological thriller.
Sometimes the only thing to fear…is yourself.
When reclusive writer Leonora is invited to the English countryside for a weekend away, she reluctantly agrees to make the trip. But as the first night falls, revelations unfold among friends old and new, an unnerving memory shatters Leonora’s reserve, and a haunting realization creeps in: the party is not alone in the woods.
Customer Reviews
Really good book!
This book was very entertaining. The only downfall (in my opinion) was the excessive use of imagery. In most cases the scene descriptions were spot on, but there were a few moments throughout the book where the use of imagery was excessive and unnecessary. This made it very difficult to get through some chapters, but I’m glad I stuck to it. As stated earlier, very entertaining plot, and a good listen/read. I would recommend to anyone who loves a good mystery/thriller.
Ugh
Predictable, yet unrealistic. Lots of words in all the wrong places.
Amazing
My mom and I had fun listening to this book on a road trip. Trying to guess who did and what happened was exciting! I would recommend!
