Customer Reviews
Incredible. Love these characters.
Still the same quality as when I first read it years ago.
This is Raidriar's book. Everything he says and does is fantastic--so methodical, cunning, sadistic, yet honest. I love the loathing yet trust he and Siris have for each other, it's such a unique alliance. The opening violence in the Vault of Tears is terrible and engrossing.
So many good scenes with Siris and Isa alone together, finally honest allies and leading others. Him playing with kids was a highlight.
The final sequence of Raidriar challenging the Worker of Secrets is riveting. Two personalities who command respect trying to maintain control.
The only criticism of this book I have is how frequent the flashback "Deviations" are. They really derail the Vault of Tears when that deserved to be an unbroken sequence. (A Deviation even interrupts Raidriar walking through a doorway lol...) The Deviations should be rarer and longer. But the actual contents are good: the advent of the story's present-day paradigm.
The Deviations are a small issue, as the actual contents of this story are still incredible and Sanderson writes these characters brilliantly. I'm almost upset there's only 2 Infinity Blade books. I'm very grateful for them.
Do NOT Read if not a Gamer
Part 1 is quite enjoyable.
Part 2 is a drudgery. The thing is only 4 hours long, and feels like a 1,000.
There is no Part 3. If you’re not a gamer, there is nothing to cleanse the pallet via resolution of Part 2.
