Not so very long ago, Eragon—Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider—was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.

Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chances.

The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaësia? And if so, at what cost?

This is the much-anticipated, astonishing conclusion to the worldwide bestselling Inheritance cycle.

Great book

I’m not one to leave comments but this series has always been a favorite of mine. Paolini’s imagery takes you into the story, so much so you can envision the territories of Alagaesia. Hes amazing. The conclusion was satisfying like chocolate cake and milk. However, the audiobook could be redone. Glaedr sounds nothing like he did before and the creepy voice of Saphira has bothered me from book 1. Gerard Doyle has captured me throughout the first 3 books. His voice overs for a majority of the characters draws you in and you are there in real time. However, the inheritance voice over made me feel like the switched some of the actors season 3 with new actors and it doesn’t have the same appeal.
