Publisher Description
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us and All Your Perfects, a “brave and heartbreaking novel that digs its claws into you and doesn’t let go, long after you’ve finished it” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author) about a workaholic with a too-good-to-be-true romance can’t stop thinking about her first love—soon to be a major motion picture.
Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life seems too good to be true.
Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.
As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.
An honest, evocative, and tender novel, It Ends with Us is “a glorious and touching read, a forever keeper. The kind of book that gets handed down” (USA TODAY).
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
This gripping romance features the kind of daring emotional twists that have made Colleen Hoover—CoHo to her fans—a big name in contemporary fiction. It Ends With Us unfolds as a series of letters in which Hoover’s heroine, Lily, pours her heart out to her personal hero, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. Olivia Song’s sensitive narration draws you into Lily’s difficult story, which involves her upbringing in an abusive family and a love triangle. Though her relationship with handsome, ambitious surgeon Ryle may seem perfect (their steamy love scenes are HOT), the reappearance of an old flame forces her to take stock of reality: Neither man is exactly what he seems. This profound look at love in all its uncertainty is classic CoHo.

IT ENDS WITH US
Such an amazing book. Going through a very similar situation, it made me realize that no matter how much you love a person and they love you, sometimes love just isn’t enough to stay with that person who hurts you. If they love you they will let you go. It takes courage, strength, and being brave to leave the person you thought you were supposed to grow old with. Breaking the cycle is the most important thing you can do not only for you but for your kids who witness the abuse. They need to know no one deserves the abuse and they deserve better.
Love this book!
I adore this book with all my heart but when I went on google to do a little more research afterwards, I saw people hating on the age gap between lily and atlas on lily’s sixteenth birthday. I don’t think this age gap was weird since it took place in Maine at the time. I love Colleen Hoover and plan to buy and read more of her books. This story was touching and filled with drama I could tell came from the heart.
