It's Dan Calebow's worst nightmare: Phoebe Somerville, a trendy New York knockout, inherits the Chicago Stars, the football team he coaches. And she wants to help him run it. Phoebe's sure he needs her. He's a sexist, good-ol'-boy jock with a one track mind. She can straighten him out.
So why should each find the other attractive? Call it the competitive urge, but these two stubborn people play the game for keeps.
"A sleek, romantic comedy." (Publishers Weekly)

Love the whole series! and the narrator is my favorite.
Phoebe's story isn't my favorite of the series but it IS very good, and it allows you to see how everything started, though you don't have to read the books in proper order to enjoy them individually. I read the very last book first before I realized that it was a part of a series. The whole series has a combination of a good story line, a few unexpected twists, great characters, definitely some humor, (what every good romance book needs), LOVE and football! I listened to it in my car a lot and Im sure some people thought I was crazy as I drove down the road with a huge grin on my face laughing to myself. Even my husband likes this series! The narrator Kate Flemming/ Anna Fields is my favorite narrator and really helped this book come to life in my imagination. She does the male voices so well, its easy to forget that she is reading. I was sorry to learn of her passing in 2006. This series only downfall, in my opinion, is that the 2nd book, Heaven Texas, isn't on audiobook and that Kate Flemming was not able to narrate it. Happy Reading!!..er uhh listening!! :)
