Publisher Description

New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Larry Wignet offers sharp, unapologetic—and invaluable—advice for succeeding in the work world

For all those who are frustrated at work, who seem to have no luck in business, who are underappreciated at the office, who are uninspired by their daily tasks, who just aren’t finding the career success they desire, Larry Winget is ready to share his wisdom:

It’s called work for a reason.

It's time for a swift kick in the pants from The Pitbull of Personal Development®, Larry Winget. Studies say that we actually work only half the time we are on the job. So then whose fault is it when we don’t get the results we want? Stop making excuses for your lack of success and stop acting like someone owes you a living.  Larry is here to ruffle your feathers and show you how to take responsibility for your results. Whether you punch a clock, own your own business, or manage other people, Larry's advice will work for you.

Find out why:

   • Success is simple
   • Teamwork doesn't work
   • Our co-workers are really only "co-goers"
   • Results are everything
   • You don't have to love your job (but it helps!)

Remember the work ethic of your parents and grandparents and make yourself worth more than you cost. That's the way to get ahead, and there's no big secret that will get you there quicker.

Solid, Sound Advice

He's definitely sure of himself, but its that assuredness that has made him a successful salesman and speaker.

Winget delivers direct, simple, albeit highly-opinionated, information that, to me, makes sense. No major earth-shaking "secrets" are revealed, just solid, sound advice rooted in simplicity. He's backing results. Not results achieved at all costs or by any means necessary. Results from hard work. Results from solid effort. Results from integrity. Results rooted in ethical and honest behavior.

Is his method for everyone? Nope. Is he right 100% of the time? Who is? Does he come across as a little over the top? Probably. Is it worth one's time to soak in what Winget has to say (regardless of how he says it) about business today? I think so, and I highly recommend this book/audiobook.

Go ahead.. buy it

This is a great book buy a great author. Larry is frank and preaches personal repsonsibility for the success of your career. This doesnt teach you how to deal with people by manipulation, this book shows and tells that it all starts with you. At times this is a controversial message, as you see when Larry is on CNBC. But you can tell Larry resonates with people when by the end of his CNBC appearences, he ends up the most compelling speaker on the stage.

Yes, yes, yes!

Had this book for six years and never gone through it. Fantastic piece of work. Tell it like it is. If you’re looking for someone to hold your hand and make you feel good about yourself and about the accomplishments you’ve never made, then this book is not for you. If you’re looking for someone to tell you that participating is winning, then this book is definitely not for you.

This book is about old-school (real school) teaching about success in life with things, work and people.

Love this work.
