Ronnie:) ,

Story was great! Narrator was not.

I loved the story! Normally, I’m not a mystery person unless I’m watching a movie or tv show because I have a difficult time concentrating and end up overlooking important plot points. I purchased the audio book and the story was very intriguing, well-written, and kept me hooked from start to finish. I really thought the character development was good; all of the characters seemed to have their own personalities. I loved how the story went on and little bits of the mystery slowly came to light, making me guess “who dunnit” constantly. Overall, it was a great story and the ending was not revealed too early, which would have made the rest of the book unenjoyable.

However, the narrator for the audio book tried way too hard to do different voices for each character, which only resulted in all the women sounding the same, and all the men sounding like, well, a woman trying to lower her voice to sound husky and manly and it was incredibly irritating. The only times I appreciated the effort was of her portrayal of Jaimie, and the teenage girls. She was very good at that. The rest just sounded awful but the story was great!

Meh

This book wasn’t bad but it was far from riveting. It basically had the exact same plot as every Lifetime murder mystery you’ve ever watched.
