Publisher Description

Jane Eyre remains a classic of 19th-century English literature and is the most famous and influential novel by Charlotte Bronte.

Published in 1847, one of the most popular of all English novels, the story tells of the rise of a poor orphan girl against overwhelming odds. It is a work of fiction with memorable characters and vivid scenes exploring themes that have as much relevance today as in the time it was written.

British novelist Charlotte Bronte (1816 - 1855) was the eldest of the three famous Bronte sisters whose novels have become standards of English literature.

Somewhat good / Somewhat painful

Reader does a good job as Jane, but listening to her Mr. Rochester voice is challenging. Not sure I'll be able to get through the entire book. Maybe her Rochester voice will improve...

antipodes ,

Lucy Scott is perfect.

For a long time this was the only audiobook on my phone and I have perhaps listened to this recording a dozen times over the past year or so without feeling any lack. I absolutely love this reading. I'm also a little embarrassed at how picky I am, sometimes, but even with all my skepticism this recording was immediately a favorite. More of this, please:)
