Publisher Description
This is one of the greatest romances, and one of the greatest mysteries, ever written.
Jane Eyre is an orphan child who knows only abuse and misery from her mistress. As a young girl, she is sent off to a boarding school where her good character and diligent habits win her friends and respect. In time, Jane herself becomes a teacher at the school.
Seeking a wider horizon, Jane takes employment at Thornfield Hall, where she comes under the spell of Edward Rochester, its owner, a man of savage temperament and desperate unhappiness. The reason for both is linked to a great secret that is kept locked away on the third floor of the mansion. It's final revelation brings an incredible climax to the story and changes both lives forever.
Customer Reviews
Nicely done
I got this book a few months ago from Audible before it was listed on Itunes. I thought it was very well done and had no problem with the sound. The treble was a bit high but that actually made it easier to understand in my car since it "cut through" the engine noise. The price may seem a bit high but
I used it on a long car trip and it was less than just one of my many gas fill-ups. For the way it made that long trip fly by, it was well worth it.
Wonderful Book, but Not a Good Buy
Jane Eyre is one of the most romantic and fascinating books I have ever read, but the quality of sound and outrageous price makes it not worth the trouble of buying this audio. I was shocked that iTunes would even put such an incredibly poor audio book in their library at such a price and expect people to buy it! But the book is amazing, so I give it five stars, but everything else, not so much!
Do not buy unless desperate
This is not a good recording the sound quality is vary bad. Unfortunately there is not a better one that I kind find, unless you are willing to pay twice the costly amount of this recording.
Sincerely a disappointed buyer.
