Epic Novel, Interesting Narrative Choices
The narration was incredible. My one gripe is the interpretation of Mr. Rochester. I had a hard time sympathizing with him or finding him redeemable, and I think part of that was how his parts were read. Not that he’s a great person in the first place, but I think the interpretation was a little off.
Better than today’s bestsellers
Reading this book vs listening to it is an entirely different experience, especially in the hands of such an accomplished actress. It brings an entirely new level of understanding to the characters. This might have been written ages ago, but humans haven’t changed as much as one might think, and Jane is an intelligent survivalist for all times. Kudos to this fantastic audiobook, which brings out the genius of its author.
Loved loved loved
I was very surprised by this book. This is the first time in a while that I stayed up late reading a book and was genuinely upset that I had to put it down to sleep. So well written and the characters are all so interesting. Even St. John, who I despise, was a very well written character. Definitely one of my favorite books of all time.
