Jim Cramer, host of CNBC's Mad Money and bestselling author and financial guru, offers specific advice about how to overcome your fear of the markets and put your investments back on track to recover from the financial debacle of 2008-2009.
You don't even look at your 401(k) statements any longer. When mail comes from your broker or your mutual fund, you throw it in a drawer unopened. You know how bad things are and you're just waiting for them to improve before you start thinking about your money again.
But how long will that take? How many opportunities will you miss while you hide your head in the sand? Shouldn't you be doing something?
Jim Cramer says that there are positive steps you can take to start the financial healing process. You can start to get back to even, then go from there. Cramer explains how to make the best of the bad situation you're in, and how not to succumb to fear and panic. He tell you what steps to take depending on your age and your financial goals. Getting Back to Even will include advice on refinancing a mortgage, recovering from job loss or downsizing, and making a new financial plan. It will include twenty new rules for investing that fit the current economic climate.
Jim Cramer believes that the stock market is still the best long-term investment anyone can make. He'll offer guidance on which stocks to select, or how to find a reliable and successful mutual-fund manager, and how to spot the economic recovery when it happens.
Whether you're 25 and investing to build wealth or 65 and hoping to restore your retirement savings, you'll need the advice Jim Cramer offers in Getting Back to Even.

Another big BOOYAHHH!!!
Investing and Finance use their own language, and Cramer does a great job of translating the mumbo-jumbo of the complicated finance world. I am a huge supporter of his advice; I watch his show and subscribe to his Action Alerts Plus service. He has been a fantastic guide along the beginning path to personal investment. His advice has helped craft my portfolio into a solid source of financial success. Heed his advice on doing YOUR HOMEWORK! Learn the terminology and apply it to your own valuations of stock, you won't regret the fourty-five minutes it could take to make a killing, or save your precious bottom-line.
I gave it four stars for the omission of some chapters about options. Other than this snafu, its an entertaining and informative listen.
Good luck in the MAD market!
Cramer tried to entertain listeners as well as coaching them in investing, which is what makes this audiobook different and much more interesting to listen to than other investment related audiobooks.
I'm a Cramer fan. Watch him every night. Subscribe to his Action Alerts Plus...and have beat the market indexes by between 9-15 percent depending on accounts all thanks to Jim. I had to do my homework and even then a few losers crept in like BofA, but this book got me turned on to options. This is also why I give this a good but rating. The audiobook doesn't cover the all that the real book does in terms of Options. In fact, Cramer says, you'll have to get my book to really see what I'm talking about here. Really Jim..I bought your book..in audio format..read it to me! I went to the library and got his book for the 2 chapters on Options and then got some real books on the topic. So, overall a good book, but needs to be unabridged.
