Publisher Description

At the dawn of the nineteenth century, two very different magicians emerge to change England's history. In the year 1806, with the Napoleonic Wars raging on land and sea, most people believe magic to be long dead in England-until the reclusive Mr Norrell reveals his powers, and becomes a celebrity overnight.

Soon, another practicing magician comes forth: the young, handsome, and daring Jonathan Strange. He becomes Norrell's student, and they join forces in the war against France. But Strange is increasingly drawn to the wildest, most perilous forms of magic, straining his partnership with Norrell, and putting at risk everything else he holds dear.

One of the Best

This book is absolutely amazing and largely unappreciated. I can’t say enough good things about it, and the narration is off the charts. I listen to this audiobook at least once every few years, fantastic.

Good narrator for a great story

A fun experience!:)

Unbelievablly Good

As a major consumer of audio books, I place a high importance on narrator. Let me assure you that this extraordinary book is extraordinarily narrated. The characters are all rendered with great precision, men and women alike. This is a brilliant version and the genius of both the writer and the performer will inspire even in the darkest of times.
