Wow!
This was a hard book to read. So much accountability to follow. So thankful this book came into my life I let go of three things , never mind just thought about one. I let go of four things because of this book. I have shared this book with many others.

This book is fantastic and I would just like to point out that the word repent is in the New Testament. In fact, Jesus starts off his earthly ministry by calling folks to repentance.
Matthew 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (ESV).
Mark 1:15 - “and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (ESV).
Mark even says believe in the Gospel...the Gospel of who???? Jesus...what does Jesus say in the verses???? To repent! Mark is tying the Gospel to repentance.
Jesus doesn’t ask or suggest! It’s a command and should be considered a warning. The verse you quoted is correct, but without putting it into context with the message of Corinthians, the New Testament and the entire Bible, it’s easy to read that verse the way you have portrayed it. Forgiveness is there, but it’s in the repentance that bring salvation. Here again in the New Testament Paul says in 2 Cor. 6:10 “Godly sorrow brings REPENTANCE that leads to SALVATION and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. So even here we see the New Testament distinguishing between types of repentance. Repentance is there in the Bible man! Just dig deeper and God will lead you to what he has for you...
Sounded good at first then they got into the repentance thing
Actually learned a few things at the beginning but then he got off into the repent and then believe stuff if he was to read the Gospel of John which is written to unbelievers so that they might know and have eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, he would see that the word repent is nowhere in that gospel and it’s written that we may believe.
“But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.””

The only repenting we need to do when we come to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is when we acknowledge we are sinners and we need Jesus to pay that debt payment he did on the cross was for us and we believe and trust that his word is true salvation is all of God and none of us and he’s adding works.

“in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”
