Publisher Description

Five hockey players, a cabin in the woods...and little old me, Winnie Berlin.

Sounds like the start of a fantasy, right? But it's not. It's my reality.

It all started when I got lost in the middle of the Canadian Rockies. A wicked thunderstorm sent my car mud sliding into a ditch, and for a girl whose survival skills involve finding the nearest Starbucks, I was in deep trouble.

Forced to abandon my car in search of help, I stumbled upon a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Soaking wet, irritated, and in desperate need of a hot shower, I knocked on the door for help only to be greeted by five boisterous, burly, and insanely attractive men.

Not just men.

Professional hockey players.

I hit the motherload of fantasies, right? Wrong.

Because as it turns out, one of them is my ex-boyfriend's half-brother. And when I end up crashing in their spare bedroom for the night, things take a very unexpected turn.

I'm not sure any amount of survival skills can protect my heart from Vancouver Agitators star goalie, Pacey Lawes. But as long as we kiss and don’t tell, maybe everything will be okay....

A Gripping & Fabulously Delightful Story & Listen🎧

I loved everything about this book, from Meghan Quinn’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines to the perfectly cast narration that brought it all to life from the pages to my ears. Meghan Quinn is a gifted author, she masters sports romance, and it truly shows in this book where five members of the Vancouver Agitators spend their first month post season winding down in a secluded mountain side cabin in the woods. She captures the camaraderie amongst the team members, as well as each of their quirks & personalities. Their cabin stay starts off with terrible weather and they are afraid that their hired chef who is bringing up all their food will not make it to there. It is a hilarious scene when they realize this, the witty dialogue and back-and-forth bickering is too funny, it is a relief when their doorbell rings the chef finally arrives, except it was not him, it was a girl with car problems looking for a working phone. She was not expecting to be greeted my five gorgeous men, it was a mixed reception, some were curious, one was not trusting her appearance, one was even a little rude. But when she mentioned he had a knapsack filled with snacks, the majority win and they let her in. Winnie Berlin has not had the best year, her Mom lost her battle with cancer, she lost her store and her boyfriend dumped her; she set out with a plan, determined to do right for her Mom and then get her life back on track. But traveling mountain roads was not the smartest thing to do in a mini cooper. Luckily, she found an occupied cabin, and they were going to let her stay until the storm was over and the roads were clear enough to get her car out of the ditch. Pacey Lawes thought Winnie looked familiar but he could not place from where regardless, it did not stop the instant attraction he felt towards her. The two clicked, and they spend some time together getting to know each other. The connection they made and the chemistry between them were real, despite her reluctance. But it all goes south for Pacey, he has a health scare, one that may end his career, then he screws up with Winnie by withholding information and it may not be something she can get past. Winnie stayed in a relationship for all the wrong reasons and she does not want to go down that path again, though deep in her heart she knows Pacey is not her ex. This fabulously delightful story is beautifully plotted with the perfect balance of drama, romance, humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy hot romance. Meghan Quinn, thank you for another entertaining and enjoyable novel, I loved every minute of it.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin are talented narrators and voice artists. They have a complete understanding of the characters they portray, giving each a voice that fits that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I picture the character to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the characters’ emotions and projects them into their performance. They set the perfect tone for the story, handle the witty dialogue with ease and land the humor effortlessly, never missing a beat. Thank you for another wonderfully entertaining listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.
