“Meh!”
The story definitely has some promise. There are some cringe inducing cliche moments like when Livie starts asking about a dad and a house though. When you just say, “well if those lines weren’t a last minute add…” The characters need some more depth and fleshing out as well. Right now “Frank” is probably the most 3D of the lot.
With regard to the audio recording, it was not great. I’ve definitely heard worse and had to stop listening to a book on occasion because of it. You won’t necessarily stop listening on this book, but the reader is no Lorelei King. Also the editors of the recording left a lot of errors and retakes in the reading. So, you know, kind of not impressed with the quality of the recording.
I do however very much like the potential of the series. And, I really do hope Ms Gold can up her game in the future because this could be such a fun series!
