Publisher Description
When Aurelie Harcourt’s father dies in debtor’s prison, he leaves her just two things: his wealthy family, whom she has never met, and his famous pen name, Nathaniel Droll. Her new family greets her with apathy and even resentment. Only the quiet houseguest, Silas Rotherham, welcomes her company.
When Aurelie decides to complete her father’s unfinished serial novel, writing the family into the story as unflattering characters, she must keep her identity as Nathaniel Droll hidden while searching for the truth about her mother’s disappearance—and perhaps even her father’s death.
Author Joanna Davidson Politano’s stunning debut set in Victorian England will delight listeners with its highly original plot, lush setting, vibrant characters, and reluctant romance.

Christian book
Story was fine up until the main character started quoting god and scriptures. I’m an atheist and it ruined it for me. I stopped listening mid track 19 because it felt like I was being preached to. If you’re Christian then it’s fine but if your not it’s just annoying.
A Victorian Mystery
A well deserved award winning book, Lady Jayne Disappears is a haunting Victorian tale complete with a modicum of Little Dorritt amongst an original cast of complicated characters and mysterious events. The subplots are impeccably paced and the journey to learn more of Lady Jayne is worth taking.
I continue to enjoy audiobooks narrated by Justine Eyre. She brings a wonderful narrating flair which is so well suited for books set in England.
This book is suitable for teens and older with no inappropriate intimate scenes and no bad language.
