Useful, but...

I've used all three levels of this and I found them quite useful, but by themselves they might be a little too hard for most people to deal with. It's a lot of information and you'd have to listen to each lesson dozens of times in order for the information to sink in. Additionally, since it's just audio, you'll miss things that you really need more explanation to understand. What was really great was using this series with the Pimsleur series. Pimsleur is wonderful in that it really walks you through a language well, but its downside is that it doesn't provide nearly enough vocabulary to get you anywhere. This series has just the opposite problem, in many ways. I think the best thing to do would be to do all three of the Pimsleur Italian levels first, then starting with Level 2 of Learn Italian in your Car and proceeding to level 3.
