Very handy for a first timer
This is the perfect book for someone that just found out they're going to Brazil and have never heard a word of Portuguese in their life. It's not just memorization. He gives you useful phrases, slows it down, enunciates, gives you the root words, explains the history, culture, and literal translation as well as implied translations. This audiobook taught me about money, how to get on and off a bus, and how to get a computer in an internet cafe, in addition to common greetings and the usual things you'd expect. My girlfriend is Brazilian, she listened to it and was very impressed with not only the accuracy, but with his delivery and method of teaching. I highly recommend this for anyone that needs to learn how to get around in Brazil quickly.

This is a continuation of the the first audio book and I really like the way there is cultural learning that sneeks in along with the language learning by way of well done brief folksy anecdotes and stories.
